These investigators exposed lymphocytes pretreated with varying concentrations of ferulic acid to gamma radiation, and found that the treatment with ferulic acid for 30 min prior to radiation exposure resulted in a significant reduction in DNA damage compared to non-treated controls and that higher concentrations provided more protective effects [27]
