The activity of GR was estimated by mixing the crude enzyme extract (0.1 mL) with a reaction mixture including potassium glutathione disulfide (GSSG 2.5 mmol), EDTA (0.1 mmol), phosphate buffer (pH 7.0, 100 mmol), and NADPH (0.5 mmol) in NaHCO 3 (1%)
The cells were lysed in the lysis buffer provided by the kit for 1 h at room temperature with gentle shaking and then centrifuged at 200 x g for 15 min
